HERON LAKE CITY COUNCIL

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 2022, 4:30 PM

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

 

                The meeting was called to order at 4:30 PM by Mayor Rasche, with the following Council Members present, Mitchell Ferguson, Glenn Kuhnau, Zach Schumacher, and Carol Wagner.       

                Others in attendance were John Haberman and Stacy J. Anderson. 

 

Approval of Agenda

                Council Member Schumacher moved, seconded by Council Member Kuhnau, to approve the agenda, with the addition of accepting a resignation.  Vote on the motion: Rasche, Ferguson, Kuhnau, Schumacher, and Wagner, aye; no nays.  Motion carried.

 

RLF Default Loan

                Council reviewed an offer from Austin Spahn for $26,000 for the repossessed 2013 Skid Loader and attachments.  It was noted that when the special meeting was scheduled the offer for the skid loader and attachments was $27,000 and the offer was changed prior on August 30,2022.  It was also noted that Lori Kolander has the skid loader and attachments listed on Facebook for $29,999.  Discussion resulted in:

                Council Member Schumacher moved, seconded by Council Member Kuhnau, to counter offer $28,000 to Austin Spahn, if the offer is declined the skid loader and attachments will go to auction with the rest of the equipment and tools.  Vote on the motion: Rasche, Ferguson, Kuhnau, Schumacher, and Wagner, aye; no nays.  Motion carried.

                Mr. Spahn was called during the meeting and Mayor Rasche relayed the countered offer.  Mr. Spahn did not feel that $28,000 was a good price for him with the all the repairs that he would need to make and countered the offer at $27,000.  Council declined to offer. 

                City Clerk explained to council that an interested party in the 2011 Dodge pickup has also expressed interest in looking at the skid loader, pickup, and tools and may put in an offer for everything.  Council directed staff to contact this interested party and request that he view the items prior to the regular council meeting scheduled for September 7, 2022. 

 

Accept Resignation

                Council Member Ferguson moved, seconded by Council Member Kuhnau, to accept the resignation of Stacy J. Anderson, effective September 30, 2022.  Vote on the motion: Rasche, Ferguson, Kuhnau, Schumacher, and Wagner, aye; no nays.  Motion carried.

                Council directed staff to post and publish the opening.  

 

Adjourn              

                Mayor Rasche moved, seconded by Council Member Schumacher, to adjourn at 5:155 PM. Vote on the motion: Rasche, Ferguson, Kuhnau, Schumacher and Wagner, aye; no nays.  Motion carried.
