MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

APPROVE AGENDA

Motion made by Council Member Schumacher to approve the agenda.  Seconded by Council Member Kuhnau.  Vote on the motion:  Rasche, Kuhnau, Schumacher, Haberman, Baumann – aye.  No Nays.  Motion passed.

 

DEPUTY CLERK/TREASURER APPLICANTS

Discussion on the 5 applications that were received for the position of Deputy/Clerk.  Mayor Rasche and Council Member Schumacher interviewed the 5 applicants.  Two of those applicants were not qualified.  Of the three remaining discussion was on what they were able to do.  Motion made by Council Member Haberman to hire Kaci Henkels at $19/hr with a six-month probation.  After the probation an additional $.50/hr will be added.  If declines move to Kelley and then Nelson with the same rate of pay.  Seconded by Council Member Kuhnau.  Vote on the motion:  Rasche, Kuhnau, Schumacher, Haberman, Baumann – aye.  No Nays.  Motion passed.

 

OTHER BUSINESS:  Sweeper Services estimate.  Received an estimate for repairs and replacements for the street sweeper.  Discussion on whether stainless steel or powdered coated.  Having Public Works help with the repair will help with some of the cost.  Motion made by Council Member Baumann to accept the estimate from Sweeper Services for $12,265.30.  Seconded by Council Member Kuhnau.  Vote on the motion:  Rasche, Kuhnau, Schumacher, Haberman, Baumann – aye.  No Nays.  Motion passed.

Another quote was presented from C & B Operations for a new lawn mower with a side discharge.  The current lawn mower has a rear discharge and does not work properly.  C & B will give a trade-in allowance for the old lawn mower.  Motion made by Council Member Kuhnau to spend the extra $1000 dollars and trade in the John Deere mower we currently have and get the John Deere Z99R with the side discharge.  Seconded by Council Member Baumann.  Vote on the motion:  Rasche, Kuhnau, Schumacher, Haberman, Baumann – aye.  No Nays.  Motion passed.
